HumanConcepts Introduces Modeling Software for Managing Organizational Change

Sausalito, CA, Nov. 20, 2006 - HumanConcepts, developer of OrgPlus, the industry-leading software for workforce modeling and intelligence, today introduced OrgPlus Enterprise 2.6.1, itsnewest solution, with web-based modeling capabilities to support workforce organization and reorganization.

OrgPlus Enterprise connects to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle and PeopleSoft and allows users to easily visualize and validate their workforce information, and provides an environment for analysis and planning of future workforce scenarios. Users of OrgPlus Enterprise can now create and analyze scenarios for changes in their workforce in a web-based environment.

Workforce modeling is becoming increasingly important as companies continue to struggle with the cost and complexity of organizational change. Organizations need the ability to view the workforce holistically. Once a company visualizes and assesses the current structure, it is critical to be able to create "what-if" scenarios. "The OrgPlus Enterprise Modeler allows companies to adjust the organization to align with business goals and immediately assess the impact before any change is actually made," said Martin Sacks, CEO of HumanConcepts.

The OrgPlus Enterprise Modeler can also be used to plan for significant organizational change, such as growth initiatives, spikes in retirement, as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Statistics show that more than 70% of M&A deals end in failure. With the many business challenges involved in a merger, considerations such as employee productivity may not be a priority. However, underestimating the impact of the shift in employee skills sets and core competencies can have a huge impact on the future success of a new company. Succession planning is also becoming increasingly urgent for organizationsas baby boomers, totaling over 76 million people and representing 28% of the U.S. population, begin leaving the workforce. A recent study revealed that 66% of employees plan to leave their company within the next ten years. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, by 2010 there will be 10 million more jobs than people to fill these positions.

"Having managed HR systems at FedEx for 16 years, I understand the importance of anticipating and planning for organizational change: mergers and employee turnover are two good examples," said Jim Candler, VP of Customer Relations and Strategic Products at HumanConcepts. Candler is a speaker at the Oracle HCM (Human Capital Management) Users Group Conference, November 29 - December 1, in Orlando, Florida, where he will present the OrgPlus Enterprise Modeler.
